Cheesy Garlic Bread Sticks ( minus the garlic ) : )

So my new obsession has been with Pintrest. I am completely in love. So my usual routine is to search through the DIY & Crafts looking for recipes and cool craft ideas when I found this fantastic recipe that is from www.laurenslatest.com. Let me tell you it is amazing!

The recipe is for Cheesy Garlic Bread Sticks, but I made mine with out the garlic, since my fiance isn't particularly fond of garlic.

So here are my pictures...

This is the ingredients used for Lauren's Fail-Proof dough:
(For amounts to use go to her site)

Here's the dough after all of the ingredients are added...

After waiting for an hour and a half..

This is the dough spread out on and upside down cookie sheet. I put aluminum foil on the cookie sheet and sprayed with cooking oil since I don't have parchment paper. I added melted butter, parmesan and mozzarella cheese to the top.

This is after baking it for about 7 minutes on 500 degrees and then turning it on broil and watching it until it was golden brown. (Side Note: I had to decrease the baking time and turn it on broil because my oven is the devil and never cooks evenly.)

And this is after we finished up the last few pieces :D

I figured I would show how things turned out for me since I am the farthest thing from a chef or a baker, but I love to try new recipes and I am trying to expand on the recipes that I can successfully do. This recipe is clear, correct and just like Lauren says, Fail-Proof. I hope everyone goes to Laurens site and tries this recipe, because it is truly amazing. :)

Happy Cooking. :D

Book Review: The Hunger Games

The Hunger Games. Wow. Where to begin?

When I first started reading The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins I had previously read The Lottery by Shirley Jackson for my English 101 or 102 classes...I can't quite remember but I do remember the resemblance of the tone and feel of the stories.

Anyway...The Hunger Games. It is such a great book with a very captivating storyline. From the moment I started reading it was nearly impossible for me to put the book down. Without saying anything to spoil the book for someone else, the book has a great story line that intertwines in with the action and suspense of the story. It doesn't merely tell of a budding romance, or a great loss, or a great fight like some books do, but it some how pulls all three together to make sense. I have to admit I haven't read the second book in the series but I plan to review it also and compare it to the first book. From what I have read from the first book however I can only see the story getting better from here and I am super excited to see where Suzanne Collins takes us.

Without sounding like I am completely in love with The Hunger Games I'll stop here and let you read it for yourself.

My personal rating: 5 stars

Happy reading :)

To New Beginnings

Well Happy New Year everyone. Even though it’s a little late I still thought it was appropriate. :P So this year I am starting a new semester of classes and moving into a new home. With as much stress as those two tasks already place upon me I have decided to start a blog about everything. Movies, books, recipes, crafts…everything I love and want to try. I plan to try new things and post pictures about what I have tried and how it was for me. I hope this blog can keep me sane with all the other chaos I have going on. I look forward to this year tremendously. So let it begin…
